They have a smallish menu, but everything is shareable. It's a cool spot and the staff is very friendly. Shojo keeps the lights pretty dim and the music loud. The chicken was fried well but needed seasoning, the aioli was smooth creamy and had a salty bean flavor, the cucumber added a brightness to the dish, don't let the cucumber get warm The bao was spongy, light fluffy and chewy in the best ways. Bao has been high on my list and this one did not disappoint. This was made with Japanese fried chicken, scallion, and yuzu black bean aioli. We finished our meal with the Karaage chicken Bao. I enjoyed that the pico is fresh, and the cabbage offered texture and crunch. The lime sauce is not over the top, it needs more lime, but it has a creaminess to it. The fish is breaded and fried properly, but they need salt. These are served on corn tortilla that were slightly dry but did have a light toast on them. The tacos came with dressed red cabbage, pico de gallo, Kaffir lime white sauce. We also tried the Far East Baja Style Fish tacos. There are sweet notes that come through, but the heat is great, and it lingers in your mouth. The sauce is hot, and it builds hotter as you eat it. The wings were cooked perfectly, the daikon adds a vinegar sour punch. This is Sriracha sweet and sour sauce, crispy garlic and pickled daikon. This is fabulous dish and possibly my favorite from the entire trip. It is so thick it almost builds its own crust on the ribs. The sauce is amazing, it is thick and sweet with a touch of heat. The peanuts add a nice texture crunch, but the lime is very subtle.
